Giving Programs

Tribute gifts are a special way to honour a loved one, friend or colleague. These include “In-Memory” gifts which pay tribute to the life of an individual, and “In-Honour” gifts which are a unique way to acknowledge a special occasion, such as a birthday, anniversary, retirement or birth of a child. Both types of gifts can be directed to benefit an area within the hospital that has special meaning to the individual the gift is paying tribute to, or that is of importance to the donor.

When gifts are made “In-Memory” of an individual, the next of kin are notified by the Foundation via a special letter which includes the names of those who made gifts in their loved one’s memory. Included with the letter is a list showing those who made gifts in memory of their loved one to produce personal notes with.

With “In-Honour” gifts, the honouree is notified directly by the Foundation and informed of any gifts made in his or her name. They too are provided with a special letter, along with a list naming those who made gifts in their honour to produce personal notes with.

In both cases, the amount of each gift received is kept confidential.

Tribute Gift Recognition
Individuals honoured with gifts made to our foundation through our Tributes Program are recognized on our website. For a complete list of those who have been honoured with a tribute gift since April 1, 2007, click here.

Gifts received in someone’s honour within the Foundation’s fiscal year (April 1 – March 31) will be recognized for one full-year on the Foundation’s “Annual Donor Wall” (located across from the Foundation office). While cumulative giving of $10,000 or more in someone’s name will receive permanent recognition on the Foundation’s “Main Donor Wall” (which will be located in the Hospital’s main lobby).
