The Hospital offers an array of Programs and Services that range from Acute Care, Residential Care and Surgical, to Diabetes Education, Nutritional Counselling and Mental Health. The areas have been divided into categories on the right for ease of navigation.

Acute Care

Acute Care
Peace Arch Hospital has 146 Acute Care beds that are used to care for patients in the Medical Units, the Intensive Care Unit, the Maternity Unit, and the Palliative Care Unit. All of these areas are staffed with skilled physicians, nurses and care aids to provide the highest quality care possible to each patient that visits our hospital. With a large variety of high quality equipment available patients can feel at ease knowing that the combination of skilled health care providers and new technology will provide a positive experience at Peace Arch Hospital.

Emergency
This busy community Emergency department sees about 30,000 patients per year and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is staffed by trained Emergency physicians and Emergency nurses with support from social work, pharmacy, occupational health, mental health specialists and a complete roster of on call Physician specialists.

While it is well recognized that this hospital serves a significant "seniors" population, services are available in the Emergency department for all ages and statistically about 20% of the patients seen are over 85 years of age, and 20% are pediatric.

Elder Health
Peace Arch Hospital’s Elder Health Out-patient Programs have developed a reputation for outstanding service. Elder Health services are designed to help those over the age of 65 deal with many aspects of aging with a positive and proactive approach, which empowers seniors to enjoy their golden years. Some of the services include; comprehensive geriatric assessments, client and family support, medication education and management, caregiver counseling, safety and falls prevention education, home assessments, continence promotion and management program, dementia care program and educational training for health professionals. There are over 20,800 people over the age of 65 living in the White Rock and South Surrey area. Residents of our community can feel confident in the high quality resources they have available to them.

Health Info Centre
Drop by the Health Information Centre which is located on the main floor of Peace Arch Hospital. This centre features up-to-date resources on a variety of health topics and community services or programs.

The Health Information Centre is funded by a generous grant from the Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation and is a program of the Fraser Health Authority.

Residential Care
Peace Arch Residential Care is part of Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock. There are two pavilions: Dr. Al Hogg and Weatherby. Each pavilion has 3 floors with 50 beds on each floor.

Our aim is to provide quality care for adults in our community, specializing in care for the older adult. Our Care Team is made up of health care professionals who together, create an environment for residents that emphasizes quality of life and enhances their strengths, abilities and interests.

As well as providing nursing care and a nutritional food service, we offer a wide range of recreational and social activities. We try to provide an atmosphere that is as home-like as possible.

Surgical
The surgical program offers a variety of surgeries and includes obstetrics, gynecology, urology, opthamology, orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, maxillo-facial and ENT. We have 3 Operating Rooms and a 6-stretcher recovery room. We offer some of the most modern technology and procedures available in health care today. In the year 2003/04 we performed 2588 Surgical Daycare Procedures and 1802 Inpatient procedures. PAH has a 25 bed Surgical Inpatient Unit that uses a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. In our 14 -bay Ambulatory Department we offer outpatient clinics in Endoscopy, IV Therapy (including the Home IV program),and minor medical and surgical procedures.
