Canadian Tire money helps make you better!

White Rock, BC -- Canadian Tire South Point has selected Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation as its charity of choice. To date its fundraising efforts have helped secure close to $5,000 to benefit the Foundation and its goal to enhance health and wellness in our community. Over the past several months the store has been collecting donated Canadian Tire monies with a donation box at their South Point location, providing customers with the opportunity to donate their Canadian Tire money to charity. The store also held a special holiday campaign in December where it sold over 2,500 gift bags, with the proceeds benefiting the hospital Foundation.

“We are grateful for managers like Dan Higgins of Canadian Tire, who partner with our Foundation to raise funds for the health and wellness of our community,” noted Jane Manning, board chair of Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation. “What a great idea to donate back Canadian Tire money to help build a healthier community!”

Dan Higgins remarked that Canadian Tire has supported Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation for a number of years and feels strongly about giving back to the community in which he lives and works.

This year’s event proceeds will go to benefit the Foundation’s $32-million Partners in Caring Campaign, which this year will fund the construction of the hospital’s new modern and expanded maternity ward and our community’s new Centre for Active Living. Both projects are expected to be completed and fully operational by year’s end.
